Rubicunda - The Beautiful Alien
I drew Rubicunda for a character design class during my time at NAIT. I was given a character description as a starting place. This character was supposed to be a beautiful humanoid alien with insect like features or clothing. Through my brainstorming process, I decided to go with a super model style character whose fashion is styled after the rosy maple moth, also known as Dryocampa rubicunda. My favorite digital drawing program is Procreate, which was my medium of choice for Rubicunda.

Captain Rex Poster
This project features one of my favorite characters from The Clone Wars; Captain Rex. I used Adobe Illustrator to create this piece. The goal was to create a propaganda poster. For the image of Rex, I tried to use colors that are exact matches to his appearance in the show, that way he is recognizable to those who watch the show. I also added some grunge on top to remove some of the clean appearance. I used the pen tool to create Rex. The colors I chose for the background were colors that are in opposition to Rex's classic blue to create contrast and draw the eye to Rex. I used some black underlay in the font to create a small shadow in the typography to allow it to stand out. I also used the halftones technique to achieve the slight halo around Rex.
